THE ART OF FOOTBALL.
MATIAS AGIUS.
BRINGING MATIAS’S IDENTITY TO LIFE THROUGH DESIGN.
Designing for an athlete like Matias Agius isn’t just about creating a visual—it’s about capturing energy, skill, and the raw passion that defines him. From the first spark of inspiration, my mind was racing with ways to translate his playing style, personality, and precision into a design that wasn’t just eye-catching but powerful.
Every color, every shape, every detail had to reflect his identity. Representing Fgura United, the design had to embody not just Matias but the spirit of the team—its determination, resilience, and fast-paced style of play. To highlight the agility and technical ability that make him stand out, I showcased him in a radiating position, fully immersed in the natural element of the game, creating a strong focal point that draws attention to his presence on the pitch.
To push the sense of motion even further, I incorporated two duplicates of Matias in the background, captured in natural game moments while dribbling—a direct reflection of his skill, speed, and ability to control the game. These elements weren’t just placed for aesthetics; they were carefully designed to mirror the flow of movement, the rhythm of play, and the dynamic nature of football itself. Small arrow details were also included, subtly reinforcing his speed, precision, and sharp decision-making on the pitch.
Beyond just action, this design was crafted to capture the artistry of football—the intensity, the celebrations, and the defining moments that make the game special. Every match is filled with these electrifying sequences, and with this design, I aimed to freeze that energy into a visual that truly represents Matias as a player.
For me, design isn’t just about making something look good; it’s about telling a story without words. With Matias, the story was clear: skill, speed, and the relentless drive to dominate the game. And that’s exactly what I aimed to bring to life.
This is what I do—turning passion into visuals that demand attention. Because in football, as in design, standing out is everything.
JAKE SPITERI.
HONORING JAKE SPITERI THROUGH DESIGN.
Designing for an athlete like Jake Spiteri wasn’t just about capturing the intensity of a goalkeeper—it was about telling a story far deeper than the game itself. This piece is more than a tribute to his skill; it’s a visual representation of passion, leadership, and a heartfelt moment that transcends football.
Representing Luxol St. Andrews, the design had to embody the resilience, discipline, and strength that define both Jake and his team. The central focus of the piece is one of the most powerful moments on the pitch—Jake lifting his shirt to reveal a printed message underneath, commemorating his late grandfather. This moment carries immense emotion, serving as a reminder that football is more than just a sport; it’s about legacy, love, and the people who inspire us to be great.
To emphasize his presence as a goalkeeper, I incorporated multiple duplicates of Jake in the background, showcasing him in different in-game moments—defending the goalpost with unwavering focus and commanding his teammates to secure victory. These elements highlight his leadership, reflexes, and ability to control the game from the back, ensuring that his impact is felt in every moment.
The visual style of this piece had to match the intensity of the scene, so I went with a glitched theme, distorting reality in a way that makes the design feel electric and alive. The Luxol St. Andrews logo zooms in with a glitch effect, symbolizing movement, digital precision, and the fast-paced energy of the game. This unique effect reinforces Jake’s sharp instincts, his ability to react in split seconds, and his unwavering focus under pressure.
This design is more than just a visual—it’s an emotion, a statement, and a tribute. It captures the energy of the game, the depth of personal moments, and the unwavering spirit of a player who carries his passion beyond the pitch.
For me, design isn’t just about making something look good; it’s about telling a story without words. And with Jake, the story was one of strength, remembrance, and the pursuit of victory—not just for himself, but for those who will always be with him in spirit.
This is what I do—turning passion into visuals that demand attention. Because in football, as in design, standing out is everything.
Mattias Fenech.
Mathias Fenech – A Futuristic Force Between the Posts.
Designing for an athlete like Mattias Fenech wasn’t just about showcasing a goalkeeper—it was about capturing his power, precision, and impact on the game. This piece is more than a design; it’s a vision of intensity, action, and futuristic energy that reflects his commanding presence on the pitch.
Representing Attard, the design had to highlight Mattias' ability to turn defense into attack in a split second. The central focus of the piece is a high-intensity moment—Mattias launching a powerful goal kick, ensuring the ball reaches as far as possible, setting up his teammates for the perfect scoring opportunity. It’s a scene filled with raw force, precision, and the strategic thinking that defines elite goalkeepers.
To bring the action to life, I incorporated duplicates of Mattias in the background, each capturing a different moment of his game-changing movements. One shows him executing an extreme dive, fully stretched, protecting the net at all costs—a testament to his reflexes and fearless commitment to keeping his goal secure. Another captures the controlled motion of him throwing the ball onto the ground, setting up for a precise goal kick, emphasizing his technical skill and ability to turn every play into an opportunity.
The entire piece embraces a futuristic, cyberpunk-inspired aesthetic, making it look like something straight out of a sci-fi sports universe. Sharp, slashing stripes cut through the design, adding movement and speed, while futuristic typography amplifies the high-tech, next-level energy of the piece. The fusion of neon-like elements and dynamic motion creates a sense of power and innovation, making this design more than just a tribute to Mathias—it’s a vision of football in its most electrifying form.
This design is more than just a visual—it’s a statement. It captures the speed, strategy, and split-second decision-making of an elite goalkeeper, bringing Mathias Fenech’s skills to life in a bold and futuristic way.
For me, design isn’t just about making something look good; it’s about telling a story without words. And with Mathias, the story was one of power, precision, and a relentless drive to control the game.
NATHAN ZAHRA.
Nathan Zahra – The Captain’s Presence on the Pitch.
When designing for a player like Nathan Zahra, it wasn’t about overcomplicating things—it was about capturing his leadership, skill, and presence in the most striking way possible. As the captain of Balzan FC, Nathan isn’t just a player; he’s the one who sets the tone, leads by example, and ensures his team fights until the final whistle.
For this design, I took a simple yet eye-catching approach, ensuring that every element worked together to emphasize the raw movement and motion of the game. Every step, every turn, and every decision on the pitch contributes to the bigger picture, and that’s exactly what I wanted to bring to life.
Rather than overwhelming the design with unnecessary effects, I focused on sharp, clean visuals that showcase his intensity and control in the game. His presence on the pitch is undeniable, and through this piece, I captured the fluidity of his movement, the moments that define a captain, and the energy that drives his team forward.
This design is a reflection of Nathan’s leadership and the dynamic nature of football itself—bold, commanding, and built for impact.
For me, design isn’t just about making something look good; it’s about telling a story without words. And with Nathan, the story was one of strength, leadership, and mastery of the game.
